Sr. Youth gathering at Tim & Kelly Miller’s house Wednesday evening at 7:00 pm.
Support & Discovery, a support and bible study group for people without children, will be starting a new bible study on Wednesday, September 16, 7:00 pm. The focus will be on Building Better Relationships by Susan Nikaido. If you have any questions, please contact Kristin Wolgemuth.
Exercise Class: Exercise class will begin Monday September 21, 9-10 am, in the Connections Room. This class focuses on stretching, strengthening, and relaxation coordinated with breathing, based on yoga technique. Cost: $5 per class. Everyone welcome! Questions? Contact Judy Yoder.

Outreach to public school students: We are participating in the Good News Club at Hempfield Intermediate School (Grades 4-6) beginning this fall. We need 6-7 persons to assist leading bible stories, discussion, crafts and informal interaction. The club runs for 7 weekly sessions (one in the fall, and one in the spring) for approximately 1 ½ hrs after school (approx. 3:30 to 5:00). Interested? Please contact Dan Burkhart today.

Caring ministries: As Health and Wholeness Team came to an end on August 31, we want you to know that the caring ministries of the church will continue. Some of the “arms” of H&W such as the Sunday School Liaisons and blood pressure checks will continue to assist with meeting the caring needs within the congregation. Also, pastoral concerns can be shared with me (Pastor Julia) and other members of the Pastoral Staff and Ministry Team. We are excited by the new possibilities for mutual care within the congregation that are being formed. I and the other task force members will be eager to hear your ideas as to how our ministry of caring within the congregation may be shaped in the future. Judy Yoder finished her role as Director of H&W at the end of August, but she will continue on through the end of the year in an advisory capacity during this time of transition. –Pastor Julia Fisher, Associate Pastor of Pastoral Care

New in the Library: The Love and Respect Marriage Conference led by Dr. Emerson and Sarah Eggerichs has been recorded on a five disc box set which was recently donated to the church library. Those who have used it say it is ideal for small group use. A discussion guide is provided.
The theme for this year’s Fall Assembly is “We are People of Christ’s Peace – in the neighborhood” –helping leaders develop skills and build bridges that reach across cultural gaps between congregations and the community in which they are located.
