Congregational Announcements

Blood pressure checks will be offered today in the Health and Wholeness room immediately following Sunday school.

Orders for candy: Sr. High Youth are selling candy as a fundraiser. Give your order to the youth today for chocolate-covered raisins and peanuts! The youth and others will be making candy on Dec. 11.

Let’s be a joyful testimony to the good news that Christ is with us! Everyone is invited to Christmas caroling in our Hempfield neighborhood on Sunday, December 13. We will gather in the upper parking lot of Hempfield High School (closest to Stanley Avenue) at 6:30 p.m. and walk and sing through the surrounding blocks, concluding by 7:30. We plan to hand out boxes of candy and invitations to our Christmas Eve service to those who welcome the interaction. After caroling we’ll drive back to the church and warm-up with hot chocolate and pretzels. In case of wet/extreme weather, caroling will be cancelled. Check the church website for updates.

The Sr. High youth will be caroling December 20, 6:30 to 9pm. We will be riding in a wagon visiting people near the church, so bundle up well. We will end with snacks at Sam and Marian Thomas’s house.

End-of-Year Giving: Now is the time to fulfill your 2009 Faith Commitment for the Building Fund if you have not already done so. If you are new to our congregation, we encourage you to give using the offering envelopes marked “Building Fund.”  Thank you for your generous support to make this project possible.

Christmas Bundles: Thanks to the congregation, 26 Christmas bundles were delivered to Material Resource Center this week.  These will be donated to children through the Spanish Mennonite Council in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, New York and Virginia.

You are invited for “Bonfire & Carols” at Chestnut Hill Mennonite Church on Saturday evening, December 12 at 7:00.  In case of rain, caroling will be held indoors.
