Congregational Announcements
The Sr. High youth will be caroling today from 6:30 to 9pm. We will be riding in a wagon visiting people near the church, so bundle up well. We will end with snacks at Sam and Marian Thomas’s house.
Bulletin items for Sunday are due by Tuesday evening this week. Christy will be in the office Monday-Wednesday. Thanks!
End-of-Year Giving: Now is the time to fulfill your 2009 Faith Commitment for the Building Fund if you have not already done so. If you are new to our congregation, we encourage you to give using the offering envelopes marked “Building Fund.” Thank you for your generous support to make this project possible.
Offering Envelopes for 2010: If you haven’t used offering envelopes in the past and would like to start using them or if you want to discontinue using them, please contact Helen Hertzler as soon as possible.
For all who work with children: the superintendents and child protection committee ask that all childcare workers, children’s Sunday school teachers, etc., attend a brief informational meeting following Sunday school on either January 10 or February 7, regarding our congregation’s child protection guidelines.
Peace candle: At the end of this year Hersh Leaman is stepping down from coordinating the lighting of the peace candle. This is a plea for someone else to coordinate that. If no one steps forward it is an indication that this symbol has run its course and its time to give it a rest for awhile. Contact Hersh for details if you are interested. –Jon Rudy
Mennonite Central Committee invites you to join Peter Dyck for a reception at MCC’s Welcoming Place. 21 S. 12th St. Akron. Drop-in event will be held from 6-8 pm on Monday, Dec. 28. In memory of Peter and Elfrieda’s efforts helping people find homes in Sudan, guests will be invited to contribute to MCC’s current program in Sudan. Questions? Contact Ben Brubaker.
