I woke Sunday morning feeling stressed and anxious about the sermon that still needed some work. As I sat at my computer, I heard the birds singing beautifully outside. The words of Matthew 6.26 came to mind, "Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they?" As I dwelt on these words, my stress eased a bit and I was able to rest in peace and calm. My crocus sighting is a story of God calling me to greater trust. It is good to be reminded though about my spending & to keep it in check. I like to pick a few favorite organizations to give a little to in honor of those people that don't need more things, but like me to give to others.
