Hosanna

What position are your hands in? Clenched? Open? Somewhere in between? And what does that mean? On Palm Sunday, we hear the story of a procession into Jerusalem (Mark 11:1-11), a story of a King with open hands toward God. Jesus is an example of self-emptying, rather than self-interested, vision. Will we be inspired by Jesus’ example, noted in Philippians 2:5-11? How will we say “Hosanna”–with self-interest, or with interest beyond ourselves, toward God’s purposes?
